The manifesto “Development Cooperation Co.” arises from the malaise caused by the governments’ commitment to a development cooperation model that empties the word “cooperation” and opens the door to new forms of business investment. We believe that the interests of transnational corporations in maximizing profits are in conflict with a human, sustainable and equitable development, and we denounce the mechanisms that, with public funds, generate anticooperation and end with the indebtedness of countries in the Global South. Thus, in visualizing this change of model and what it means for small and medium NGOs with a transformative desire, we are aware of the need to go through self-sufficiency, raising awareness on the streets, and social mobilization locally and internationally. In front the model we denounce, we propose another one, focused on people and the planet, and on concepts like the living-well (buen vivir), of feminist economics and the degrowth of Global North.
