The world lived through a pandemic that put a halt to everything, powerfully impacting our lives and realities. It was clearly a significant experience for ODG as well. We were in the midst of a process of internal reflection on how to move the organisation forward, basing ourselves on the strategic plan we had created for 2019-21. We were able to react both in the political context, working on the economic policies put in place after the coronavirus outbreak, and in relation to emotional and organisational challenges, falling back into virtuality and finding spaces where we were able to be connected while taking care of ourselves as a team. Our highlights this year were about monitoring recovering policies, auditing the Next Generation EU funds, defending public system of health, care and education, and also helping the climate justice moviments to strengthen their strategy for next years. In 2019, the ODG accompanied the emergence of the climate justice movement. We supported the By2020WeRiseUp platform in Spain and played an active part in the climate movement’s network.
